Le 24 juin prochain, au Divan du Monde, PechaKucha Paris volume 9 met en lumière les desseins de 13 designers. A travers des projets dont les représentations, virtuelles ou tangibles, questionnent le processus de création, des architectes, des designers industriels, des graphistes nous invitent dans l'envers du décor. Sur le rythme habituel de 20 images, chacune projetée pendant 20 secondes, ils poseront les termes de l'équation éthymologique du mot design. design = dessein + dessin. Jouant sur ce double sens, les designers dévoileront les étapes de leur trajet créateur. Chacun, en évoquant la naissance d'un objet, d'une interface ou d'une construction, retracera le cheminement qui conduit de l'idée à sa représentation. Cerner les intentions, les objectifs du designer, tel est l'enjeu de ce 9ème volume.

Un format original
Mark Dytham et Astrid Klein, deux architectes basés à Tokyo, ont transformé en 2003 PowerPoint en une forme d’art et un sport de compétition. Il ont initié un concept de soirée qui permet à une dizaine de designers de présenter leur travail sur un format original. Pecha Kucha, qui signifie en japonais « le bruit de la conversation », est fondé sur une règle simple : 20 images projetées pendant 20 secondes chacune, soit 6 min 40 s de présentation par designer.
Un réseau mondial
L'événement est présent à travers plus de 170 villes dans le monde. Véritable réseau international de designers, les soirées Pecha Kucha sont une plateforme d’échanges et de rencontres interdisciplinaires. Chaque soirée permet d'explorer le processus de création de jeunes designers ou d'intervenants reconnus, et de mettre en lumière de nouvelles tendances, de nouveaux usages.
Un événement pour promouvoir toutes les disciplines du design
Pecha Kucha est ouvert aux graphistes, aux designers industriels, aux architectes, aux stylistes, aux designers numériques, aux game designers, aux artistes, aux étudiants d’écoles d’art ou à quiconque souhaite partager sa vision créatrice. Par là, elle encourage une approche multi-disciplinaire et décloisonnée des métiers du design.
